Fund raising
- Annual mailing to targeted residents asking for donation and/or interest
in volunteering. List of names for this mailing is generated from Board
members and volunteers.
- Response rate to letter is approximately 40-50%.
- Annual budget of OIB: $3,000 to $4,000.
Volunteers
- Group workdays done monthly April through October as needed to do major
preparation and/or installation, plant maintenance, and clean up.
- Additional volunteers take one week during the summer to weed and
generally maintain gardens.
- Volunteer training as needed is done in the spring with a garden lecture
series and training at the group workdays.
Meetings
- Board meets as needed during the year for planning purposes.
- Annual meeting is open to the community.
